The Rivers International School provides education and care for children of different nationalities from 2 to 18 years. Furthermore, the school acts as an attractive meeting place for the families of their school-going children.

A central architectural element of the design is the blue staircase. This staircase symbolizes the course of a river and is metaphor for the child’s learning journey. This element connects the pre-school, the primary and secondary school, and also a number of shared school facilities and ‘community’ spaces.
The interior design takes into account the difference between the various school types. The secondary school interior is characterized by open, flowing spaces; in contrast to the pre-school and primary school, which are designed as a more sheltered environment.
