The “House of Arts”, part of the University of Luxembourg, is situated in the City of Science in the quarter of Belval in Esch-sur-Alzette. This new university was built within the framework of Jo Coenen’s Belval master plan. The project contains lecture halls and seminar rooms, research and office space and a multimedia library, and evolved out of a collaboration with Fabeck Architectes. The “House of Arts” is for researchers and students of Master degree programs in literature, arts, art and education. The different areas are divided in: infrastructure of the University with areas for research and administration, technical and tuition areas and laboratories; residential area with 120 accommodations for students, 22 apartments for researchers and executives and 8 accommodations for visiting lecturers; commercial and industrial areas. The open areas for commercial letting are directly connected to the city.
